New hard drive

I just bought a new Hitachi 320G HD today. It costs only HK$580, really a bargain. The downside of having a big hard disk is that, well, it takes forever to format it. =P

Still, I am a happy customer.

Walking in the rain

I was walking in the rain tonight. It feels really special and brings back a lot of old memory.

Time flies. We should treasure every moment and not regret when our time comes. =)

Another job interview tomorrow

So it is another pre-sales opportunity. Another big US telco company. With my experience and knowledge, I believe I can perform the role quite well.

Let's see how well it will turn out tomorrow. =)

Harry Potter 7 Pre-order

I went to the book shop to pre-order the HP7 today. It costs me HK$195 (around US$25). I know Amazon sell it cheaper, but it will cost much more if the delivery charge is also considered (since I am in HK). Well, there is still a month to go. I am already quite excited.

Price cut for PS3?

Hope the cut will be realized as soon as possible. Since the cat has already came out of the bag, no matter what the bean counters in Sony think, people will hold buying until the cut.

Not until then, I will not part with my money for PS3.

Killer application for PS3!

I wonder when will the guys in Sony will figure out that it would be a killer application to make PS3 a HD Video Recorder by providing HDTV broadcast receiver with a USB interface. The PS3 has the processing power and harddisk (although it will need a larger one). Sony has provided the equivalent products on the analogue end (for example, RDR-HX720).

It is just an logical step to ride on the PS3 platform. If they don't do it, some guys else will figure it out first. =P

Exciting news of an old invention

There are some buzzes about the "new" wireless power transmission system lately.

http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?articleID=07511C52-E7F2-99DF-3FA6ED2D7DC9AA20&chanID=sa003

However, I want to point out that it is not really something new. I remember I watched on TV about this "magical" invention when I was a kid (more than twenty years ago) in a program about mysteries and paranormal event(!!!).

After further digging, I believe the guy Nikola Tesla invented the system near a hundred years ago.

Maybe it was more like magic than science at that time or maybe it was his personality. The thing did not really get on with public. Still it is not a new thing.

Global Technical Consultant

I went to an interview for the captioned position last Thursday at VB. Finally, someone got the job by internal transfer. Well, it is a bit disappointing. At least the guy got the job was actually an old schoolmate from university.

Small world.

The title image

The photo was taken in 1993 when I was still a student. Time flies, but the feeling is still great for the image I saw then. The place looks very different now with all the skyscrapers on the opposite bank of the sea.

Happy birthday, sis!

Happy birthday and all the best in the coming year.
Play less wow and be more productive. ;)
Cheers!

Big bros.

Potter's Fanboy?! (ok, ok... fanguy is more appropriate.)

While I have been looking for a new job, I have some free time to read the "Half-blood prince" again. Totally forgot the plot and it is quite entertaining (again).

And the new book (the final book) will come out soon. Can't wait to get a hold of it.
